Scholarship Sponsored by Texas Floral Endowment
The Texas Floral Endowment is deeply committed to fostering diversity across all sectors of the floral industry. In line with this commitment, we invite all eligible individuals to apply for our scholarships, each of which has its own specific criteria. The scholarship amount is specified alongside the criteria and will be disbursed upon the approval of the necessary documentation by the Board of Directors of the Texas Floral Endowment.

The Freytag Family Education Scholarship, in memory of Ann Hobbs TMF, has been set up with a fund of $1,200. Ann Hobbs was a passionate advocate for the floral industry and served as the President of TSFA. She was instrumental in establishing the Texas Floral Endowment and initiating its scholarship programs. This scholarship is intended for those wishing to attend the Texas Master Florist Certification Program.
The Gina Waters AAF TMFA Scholarship
Under the leadership of TSFA President Gina Waters AAF TMFA, TSFA thrived even in the face of unprecedented challenges. She spearheaded a series of virtual programs to guide Texas florists through the uncertainties brought about by the 2020 Pandemic. Gina was a firm believer in the power of education and worked with the TSFA Education Committee to launch the Professional Certified Florist Program. This scholarship, established in her memory, is for attendance at Texas Floral Events. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded.
Cross Family Education Scholarship Honoring Jane and Mark Knox TMF
Jane and Mark Knox TMF have been a beacon of inspiration in the floral industry. Jane served on several boards and chaired numerous committees and events. Mark was instrumental in developing the Texas Master Florist Certification program and served on various committees and boards. Their dedication to the industry inspired Jack Cross, TMFA, who started his floral career at Mark Knox Flowers. In honor of their contributions, Denise and Jack Cross have established the Jane and Mark Knox, TMF Floral Education Scholarship, worth $5,000, through the Texas Floral Endowment. This scholarship covers full registration and associated costs, up to $500 per recipient, for first-time attendees at educational events including the TSFA and WTNM conventions. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded.
Kassie Baker TMFA Memorial Scholarship
Under the leadership of TSFA Education Co-Chair Kassie Baker TMFA, TSFA's education programs thrived. She worked with the TSFA Education Committee to launch the Professional Certified Florist Program. This scholarship, established in her memory, is worth $300 and is for attendance at the Texas Master Florist Program. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded.
2024 New Attendee Opportunity | Texas Floral Events
The 2024 Texas Floral Events Registration Scholarship, funded by a grant from the American Floral Endowment, is worth up to $300. Two scholarships will be awarded to first-time attendees of the Texas Floral Expo. Applicants must be Texas residents. There are no other restrictions.
Sheri Renee Montgomery White AAF TMFA Memorial Scholarship
The Sheri Renee Montgomery White AAF TMFA Memorial Scholarship is funded annually by the Texas Floral Endowment and donations from family and friends in honor of Sheri. She was a respected leader in the floral industry and served on several boards and committees. She was recognized for her service with several awards. This $500 scholarship is for tuition at the Texas State Florists' Association School of Floral Design, Texas Master Florist Certification, or any accredited continuing education floral design school/program through the Texas State Florist' Association. Applicants must be interested in a career in the floral industry and submit a 500-word essay outlining their industry goals and community service activities. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded. There are no other restrictions.
Society for the Advancement of Floral Design TMF/Career Change Scholarship
The 2024 Society for the Advancement of Floral Design Scholarship, worth $500, has been established by The Society for Advancement of Floral Design. It is intended for adults changing careers or wishing to complete their Texas Master Florist Certification to pursue a career in the floricultural, agricultural or horticultural industry. The scholarship can be used for books, tuition, or room and board at a 2-year accredited Texas Community College or Floral Design School with a major in horticulture, landscaping or floriculture. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and Texas residents for two years. They must provide two references and write a paragraph explaining why they need the scholarship and show floral-related awards. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded.
Texas State Florists' Association Past Presidents' Scholarship
The Past Presidents of the Texas State Florists' Association have established a $500 scholarship to be awarded in 2024. It is for attendance at the Texas State Florists' Association Texas Master Florists Program, provided the applicant meets the program's criteria. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded. There are no other restrictions.
The Don and Nancy Wharton Memorial Scholarship
The Don and Nancy Wharton Memorial Scholarship has been established by their daughter Stephanie Washburn in their honor. Nancy served in several roles at the Texas State Florists' Association and received the Association's highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award. This $500 scholarship is for high school floral design teachers wishing to further their education in the floral industry. It can be used for tuition at the Texas State Florists' Association School of Floral Design, Level 1 and Level 2 Floral Design Certification, Texas Master Florist Certification, or any accredited continuing education floral design school or program through the Texas State Florist Association. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded. There are no other restrictions.
TSFA Education Committee Scholarship Honoring Judy Rutledge TMFA
Judy Rutledge TMFA served the Texas State Florists' Association as the TSFA Education Chair and as TSFA President. During her tenure, the High School Certification was established. In her honor, the TSFA Education Committee has established this scholarship. It is for attendance at the Texas State Florists' Association Texas Master Florist Program, provided the applicant meets the program's criteria. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded. There are no other restrictions.
TSFA Floral Event Registration Scholarship
The 2024 Texas Floral Event Registration Scholarship, worth up to $300, has been established by the Texas Floral Endowment. It is for attendance at a Texas Floral Event in 2024. Applicants must be retail flower shop employees with a minimum of two years of floral industry experience and Texas residents. The recipient will be chosen by a drawing and must use the scholarship in 2024. There are no other restrictions.
Tubby Adkisson AAF TMFA Educational Scholarship
The Tubby Adkisson AAF TMFA Educational Scholarship, worth $800, has been established by the Texas Floral Endowment. It is for classes at the Texas State Florists' Association School of Floral Design. Applicants must be interested in a career in floral design and submit a 500-word essay outlining their goals. The scholarship must be used within two years of being awarded. There are no other restrictions.
Central Texas High School Floral Teacher Education Scholarship in memory of Becky Ray Burt
Becky Burt was passionate about encouraging high school students to pursue floral certification and education. To honor her memory, the Texas Floral Endowment Board of Trustees, Southern Floral Company, and Friends of Becky Burt have established the Central Texas High School Floral Teacher Education Scholarship in her memory, worth $500. Becky was a key part of Southern Floral Company for 15 years and a strong supporter of TSFA and industry education. The Texas Floral Endowment Board of Trustees invites you to join us in honoring Becky.
