The Southwest Indiana Scholarship initiative offers monetary support to individuals who are permanent inhabitants of the Southwest Indiana Counties, which include Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Martin, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick.
Furthermore, to qualify, applicants must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year at a postsecondary institution during the academic year,
- Priority will be given to students pursuing degrees in natural sciences, accounting, finance, marketing, information systems, or business management related fields,
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale,
- Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as confirmed by their college or university.
- Be a permanent resident of the Southwest Indiana Counties.
- To be considered for the award, students must submit the online application form by the deadline of March 15, 2023, along with:
- Their most recent academic transcript,
- A recommendation letter from a non-relative, and
- An essay detailing the applicant's career goals, leadership experiences, and most significant achievement.
Chosen beneficiaries will be awarded a one-time, need-based scholarship of up to $3,000 for the academic year.
