Eligibility Criteria
The Hagan Scholarship targets students in the high school graduating class who plan to enroll full-time at an eligible four-year college or university the first fall semester after graduation. Applicants must meet academic, documentation, and income requirements and follow the program’s enrollment and completion expectations. Specific documentation is required for finalists, and recipients must adhere to work and enrollment timelines to qualify for disbursements. The scholarship is not available for attendance at community colleges, junior colleges, or online institutions.
Eligibility: Applicants must attend a U.S. high school and be in the graduating class; any nationality may apply. Minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.50 is required. Applicants must provide a current high school transcript and an unsealed letter of recommendation. Enrollment must be at an eligible four-year institution, and recipients must maintain a four-year graduation schedule or equivalent in a professional program. Parents’ Adjusted Gross Household Income for 2025 must not exceed $125,000. Finalists who are U.S. citizens must submit the first two pages of their FAFSA Summary showing the SAI; non-U.S. citizen finalists must provide proof of non-U.S. citizenship (foreign passport or Green Card). Applicants must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
Application Timeline: To be eligible for a fall semester disbursement, applicants must work 240 hours between January 1, 2027, and September 1, 2027. Work must be regularly scheduled, supervised non-family employment for compensation and may be full-time or part-time. Enrollment must begin the first fall semester following high school graduation to use the award.

How much is the Hagan Scholarship worth?
The Hagan Scholarship provides structured financial support across undergraduate and graduate studies, plus educational resources and account management experience. Undergraduate recipients may receive up to $60,000 over eight consecutive semesters, while graduate recipients may receive up to $30,000 over four consecutive semesters. The program includes staged cash allocations and funds held in HSF Schwab accounts that recipients manage during their college years, plus workshops and additional allowances for college essentials and study abroad. After graduation, recipients may receive the investment gains from their managed account up to a stated cap.
Award Value: Undergraduate awards: up to $60,000 over eight consecutive semesters; Graduate awards: up to $30,000 over four consecutive semesters. First year includes a $1,000 allowance to purchase essential college items. Second year provides a $10,000 HSF Schwab Account to manage; third year provides a $15,000 HSF Schwab Account (with up to $8,000 available for study or travel abroad); fourth year provides a $20,000 HSF Schwab Account. After graduation, each recipient receives the account gains up to $10,000.
