Qualifications
Eligibility: To be eligible for the 2027–2028 TSCRF scholarship, applicants must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited university in Texas or Oklahoma in an agriculture or agriculture-related degree program (for example: Animal Science, Pre-Vet, Agribusiness, Range Management, or Wildlife) and plan to work in agriculture. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of Texas or Oklahoma, be a member or sponsored by a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and have a background that includes beef cattle production. Transcripts from all colleges attended must be submitted; high school seniors should include their high school transcript. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, gender, religion, or ethnicity.

Award Details
Award Value: Scholarship amounts are determined by available funding and the number of awards granted each year; specific dollar amounts are not guaranteed. Each scholarship is paid by check payable to the recipient’s university and disbursed in two equal installments: one for the fall semester and one for the spring semester. Payment is contingent on the recipient registering for the major indicated on the application and meeting enrollment requirements by the specified deadline. Failure to meet enrollment or other award requirements will result in forfeiture of the scholarship and may lead to revocation for breach of agreement.

How to Apply: Applications are submitted online by completing the application and uploading all required documents. Application Requirements: Applicants must complete the application in full and upload the following required documents: a headshot photo in JPG format (4"x6" or 3"x5" preferred), a formal resume (no more than two pages), transcripts (official preferred; unofficial accepted if official are not available by the deadline), and a personal essay describing educational objectives, intended career, reasons for applying, and how the applicant will participate in and contribute to the cattle industry and culture. Recommendations are optional—no more than two, must be from non-relatives, and may use the TSCRF form or be formal letters; recommendations can be uploaded by the applicant, emailed to [email protected], or mailed to the Foundation.
