Fred Scheigert Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Council of Citizens with Low Vision International
The Fred Scheigert Scholarship Program offers a unique opportunity for four (4) students to each receive a $3,000 award. This competitive scholarship is specifically designed for full-time college students who have low vision and meet the required academic and visual acuity standards.
Every year, the scholarship guidelines and application forms are made available on this website. The application process is entirely online. For the year 2024, the application period runs from January 1, 2024, to March 15, 2024, ending precisely at 11:59 PM. Applicants should be ready to attach necessary supporting documents during the application submission.
All applications, along with the required supporting documents, must be submitted by March 15. Only .doc, .docx, and .pdf file formats will be accepted for the supporting documents, which need to be uploaded during the application process. The following documents are required:
- An unofficial transcript from the school you are currently attending or most recently attended. Only scholarship recipients will need to provide a certified copy.
- Two (2) Professional/Academic Letters of Recommendation. These should be written by a current or former professor, adviser, or internship coordinator. The letters must be submitted in Word format with an electronic letterhead and signature, as specified during the application process.
- A letter of acceptance from your school, or the expected date of notification if you are planning to attend a new school in the upcoming academic year. This should be submitted as specified during the application process.
