Qualifications
The Doodle for Google contest is a yearly art competition available to students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The contest invites students to design their own Google Doodle, with the possibility of it being showcased on Google.com, and the opportunity to win substantial scholarships and technology packages for their schools.
What is the purpose of this competition?
Google Doodles are designed to bring joy and surprise to those who visit Google.com. Previous Doodles have paid tribute to some of history's most gifted, passionate, and remarkable individuals. The Doodle for Google competition provides students from kindergarten to 12th grade the chance to exhibit their Doodle creativity on Google.com and win impressive prizes in the process!
How long has this competition been running?
The Doodle for Google competition has been an annual event in the U.S. since 2008, marking this as our fifteenth year. This website provides information for the U.S. competition only, but the Doodle for Google competition is also held in other countries throughout the year.
How is the competition evaluated?
For information on how the competition is evaluated, please refer to the Judging section on the How it works page.
Who are the guest evaluators?
Every year, we assemble a panel of guest judges to assist us in evaluating the Doodle for Google entries. You can find out more about our 2023 panel on the Judges page.
Does the public participate in the voting process?
Indeed. After the submission period ends and our judges have shortlisted the top 54 Doodles, the public will be invited to vote online. Voters will be asked to choose their favorite Doodles, one from each grade group. You can help promote your favorite Doodles by sharing them with your friends and family.
