Requirements
Applicants must submit a completed application form, a one-page academic development plan, and two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from the student’s major advisor and explain how the funds will be used. The recipient must present a report on work accomplished at an LMCA annual meeting within two years of receiving the award and provide original travel receipts for reimbursement approval.

Award and Conditions
The scholarship check is issued to the institution sponsoring the applicant. In addition to the $1,500 award, the recipient’s LMCA annual meeting registration will be waived and reasonable travel expenses to present the report may be reimbursed upon submission of original receipts and approval by the Scholarship Committee Chair. Certain restrictions apply: funds cannot be used to pay indirect institutional costs or travel to professional meetings, though student salary, field travel, supplies, and equipment directly related to the scholarship may be supported, with purchased items becoming institutional property.
