About the Volunteer Service Scholarship
The Farmer & Morris Volunteer Service Scholarship recognizes a law school applicant or current law student who exemplifies volunteerism and community service. The program seeks applicants who have demonstrated consistent, meaningful volunteer contributions that benefited others. The scholarship is intended to support a candidate who combines compassion with a commitment to public service and the legal profession.
Description: The scholarship rewards a law student who has used volunteerism to positively impact their community and personal development. Essays should explain the applicant's role, actions taken, and the benefits produced for others.
Award Value: One recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria For the Volunteer Service Scholarship
Eligibility requires academic standing, law school status, and a documented record of volunteer service. Applicants must meet the GPA requirement and show proof of enrollment or acceptance to an accredited law school. Submissions must follow the essay and file-format rules and be submitted using the specified application form.
Eligibility: Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited law school, submit an essay of no more than 750 words, submit via the required form, and demonstrate a record of volunteerism.

Description: Prompt — "Describe how you have helped someone in need, how the experience impacted you, and how you believe the experience prepared you for your future legal career." Include personal anecdotes as appropriate to support your points.
Required elements: A header with your full name and the scholarship name; an original title; a bibliography for sources; and citations. Save the PDF with the filename: “Farmer & Morris Volunteer Service Scholarship 2026 – Student Name.”

Volunteer Service Scholarship Committee

Applicant Privacy Policy
Certain individuals are ineligible to apply, including employees or children of employees of Farmer & Morris Law, PLLC, past recipients of the scholarship, applicants unwilling to be interviewed if selected, and applicants who submit the same essay to multiple scholarships. Personal information submitted by applicants will be used solely to evaluate scholarship eligibility and will not be sold or otherwise disseminated.
Exclusions: Employees and their children, prior scholarship recipients, applicants who decline interview requirements, and applicants submitting identical essays to other scholarships are not eligible to apply.
