Overview

The Constitution Scholarship supports students who complete Hillsdale College’s free online constitutional study courses and submit a credentialed application. Awards are intended for tuition at private high schools, colleges, universities, and trade schools. Applicants must complete specified courses, download Certificates of Completion, and submit those certificates with a short statement about the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Only completed applications received by the stated deadline will be considered.

Eligibility

Eligibility is based on successful completion of specific Hillsdale College online courses and submission of required documentation. Completion of both Introduction to the Constitution and Constitution 101 qualifies applicants for lower-tier awards. Completion of those two courses plus one additional approved course qualifies applicants for higher-tier awards. Applicants must upload Certificates of Completion and provide a personal perspective on constitutional freedoms as part of a complete application.

• Constitution 201: The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and its Principles
• Only fully completed applications will be reviewed.

Award Details

Award amounts are tiered according to the number and level of completed courses, with awards available up to $10,000. The program includes multiple awards and a defined total funding pool. Individual award amounts and the total awarded reflect the distribution of scholarships across recipients. Some awards are renewable; consult the application materials for renewal conditions.

Award Value: Scholarship amounts vary by course completion level; specific figures include lower- and higher-tier awards up to the maximum noted in program materials.

How to Apply

The application process begins by creating a free Hillsdale College account to access the online course catalog. After enrolling and completing the required courses, download your Certificates of Completion and prepare a short statement on the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Upload the certificates and statement to your application and submit before the deadline. Only complete submissions will be considered for award selection.
