Seize the Day Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Keller Melchiorre & Walsh PLLC

Value: $1,000.00
Awards Available: 1

Keller Swan created the Seize the Day Scholarship to encourage and support students who make the most of each day, even after hardship. We understand how a devastating accident or traumatic event can leave people feeling stuck or uncertain about the future. Because everyday choices, routines, and habits play a central role in finding purpose and moving forward, this scholarship asks students to reflect on what keeps them motivated and engaged.

Award and deadline
- One eligible student will receive a $1,000 award.
- Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2025.
- The winner will be selected during the month after the application deadline.

Who may apply
- Open to current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduate students who are legal residents of the United States living in any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia, and who are enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year postsecondary institution for the Spring 2025 semester.
- Keller Swan employees, their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, spouse), and anyone living in the same household as those employees (regardless of relation) are ineligible.
- Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

Application requirements
- A 750–1,000 word essay answering the prompt: “What routines, habits, or activities do you do to help make the most out of every day?”
- A professional résumé outlining academic and work experience.
- A transcript from the applicant’s current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or recent transfers may submit an unofficial current transcript along with the most recent official transcript from their previous school. High school applicants must include proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- Preference will be given to students who are from, or who attend secondary school in, the state.

Selection timeline
- The recipient of the 2025 Seize the Day Scholarship will be chosen in the month following the application deadline (April 2025).

If you have questions about eligibility or the application process, please contact Keller Swan for further guidance. We look forward to reading how you make the most of every day.
