Empowering women and non-binary high school seniors to pursue a career in the technology industry.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants to the Women at Microsoft scholarship must:
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Self-identify as a woman, non-binary, gender fluid, or transgender woman
- Plan to enroll full-time in a technology, engineering, math, or computer science-related undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school, in the United States, for the entire upcoming academic year. (International applicants are welcome to apply if they will attend school in the United States.)
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent
Microsoft Employees and their children are ineligible.
International applicants are welcome to apply if they attend school in the US.
Selection criteria
The program will use criteria including the consideration of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to submit the following:
- One letter of recommendation
- Transcript
- Statement of career and educational goals and objectives
Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Our next scholarship cycle will open on January 22, 2025, and applications will be accepted until March 13, 2025.
