Overview
The Good Tidings scholarship supports underserved high school seniors who have demonstrated significant service to their communities. It recognizes individuals who have made sacrifices early in life to prioritize others and who plan to continue their education. Recipients are selected with attention to both demonstrated service and financial need.

Award Details
The scholarship provides sustained financial support to ease the transition to postsecondary education. Awards are structured to promote long-term retention and completion by distributing funds across the recipient's early college years. Ten recipients are selected annually to receive the award.
Award Value: Each recipient is awarded $10,000, disbursed evenly over four years.

Eligibility & Selection
Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors and residents of specified Northern California counties. Selection prioritizes applicants who combine financial need with significant community service. Winners are also required to participate in a program volunteer shift as part of the award obligations.
Eligibility: High school seniors graduating in 2027 who reside in Alameda, Contra Costa, Lake, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, or Yolo counties; must plan to pursue college, vocational, or continuing education. Winners must volunteer a minimum of one shift (approximately 2–4 hours) for the Good Tidings Winter Wonderland Toy Giveaway in Burlingame, CA (December 5–20, 2026).

Application & Timeline
Applicants must submit all required materials by the program deadline for consideration. A letter of recommendation is mandatory and must be received by the deadline. Successful applicants will be notified on the scheduled date for that award cycle.

About Good Tidings Foundation
Good Tidings Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates opportunities for marginalized children in the Bay Area through athletics, the arts, education, and other enrichment activities. The foundation’s programs are designed to ensure children have access to play, creative outlets, and pathways to pursue their ambitions regardless of financial or cultural background. The scholarship aligns with the foundation’s mission to expand access and remove barriers to educational advancement.
History of the Award: The scholarship was established in 1999. Since inception, the foundation has granted $2.217 million to 380 deserving high school seniors.
