The Foundation for Surgical Technology is dedicated to supporting students of surgical technology by providing financial aid for tuition fees or to help clear educational loans. If you are passionate and capable of building a career in the operating room and are in need of financial support, we encourage you to apply for our scholarship.
Application Deadline
Every year, the deadline for scholarship applications is March 1. The application process for academic scholarships begins online during the fall semester. Please note that the scholarship award amounts may vary each year.
Qualification Criteria
In order to qualify for the Foundation's academic scholarships, applicants must exhibit exceptional academic performance, demonstrate a need for financial aid, and be enrolled in an accredited program. This will make them eligible to take the national certification exam through NBSTSA.

Our military scholarships assist active duty and veteran surgical technologists to attend the AST's Surgical Technology Conference and earn continuing education credits.
We provide medical mission scholarships to enable surgical technologists to serve and contribute to society.
Our surgical technology educator awards program, known as the Constellation Awards, acknowledges instructors at all stages of their careers.
Applicants must complete the Foundation's online scholarship application form in one session. Before you start, please ensure you have the following information ready:
- Your contact details, including your postal address and email address.
- The name and postal address of your surgical technology program.
- Be ready to provide persuasive responses to the following questions: Why have you decided to become a surgical technologist? What are your plans after graduation?
