Overview
The Educational Foundation of the Kentucky Society of CPAs offers scholarships that honor academic excellence and leadership in students pursuing a career as a Certified Public Accountant. These awards support promising accounting students who plan to sit for the CPA exam.
Application window for 2026 scholarships
Applications will be accepted November 1, 2025 through February 13, 2026, until 3:00 p.m. EST.
Award history and use of funds
Since 1988 the Foundation has awarded scholarships of up to $2,500. Checks are issued directly to recipients and may be applied toward tuition, enrollment fees, room and board, CPA exam review materials, textbooks and other supplies. View the list of 2025 scholarship recipients online.
Who is eligible
Applicants must meet all of the following to be considered:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be enrolled at a college or university in Kentucky, or be a Kentucky resident attending an institution in a bordering state (IN, OH, TN, WV, VA, MO, IL).
- Intend to live and work in Kentucky after graduation.
- Have completed or currently be enrolled in Intermediate Accounting.
- Be a student member of the Kentucky Society of CPAs (membership is free).
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
- Plan to take the CPA exam (students who have already completed all or part of the exam are also eligible).
If you meet the above requirements and are an outstanding accounting student at a Kentucky institution, you are encouraged to apply during the stated period.
