LaVern and Nola McEntire Memorial Lineworker’s Scholarship
The LaVern and Nola McEntire Memorial Lineworker’s Scholarship was first awarded in 2011 and is intended to support students pursuing lineworker training. The scholarship was endowed by LaVern McEntire, who served as a cooperative lineworker for more than 42 years, and his wife Nola. It specifically assists students attending the AIEC-conducted lineworker school at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarships
The IEC Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by the AIEC board in January 1994 to provide financial assistance to deserving students within the electric cooperative family. The program reflects the vision of Thomas H. Moore, a former executive vice president and general manager of the AIEC, and was renamed in his honor after his death in 2008. Sixteen IEC scholarships are awarded each year, and the program also includes a named annual scholarship honoring Earl W. Struck. The Illinois Community College System Foundation (ICCSF) administers the IEC Memorial Scholarship Fund.
