Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation
Introduction
The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation (TSCRF) is awarding scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year to students pursuing degrees in agricultural fields. Applicants who intend to enter beef cattle production will receive special consideration. Awards are for one academic year; recipients may apply again for a second year but renewal is not guaranteed. The total number of scholarships and individual award amounts vary based on available funding.
Eligibility
To be considered for a 2026–2027 TSCRF scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be accepted to or currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in Texas or Oklahoma in an agriculture or closely related program (examples: Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary, Agribusiness, Range Management, or Wildlife) and intend to pursue a career in agriculture.
- Be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Texas or Oklahoma.
- Be either a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association or sponsored by a TSCRA member.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended are required; high school seniors must include their high school transcript.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Provide two letters of recommendation completed by people other than relatives. (Recommendation forms must be mailed to the Foundation office — see Application Process.)
- Have experience or a background that involves beef cattle production.
Scholarship awards are made without regard to race, gender, religion, or ethnicity.
Award Terms and Disbursement
- Scholarships are paid by check made out to the recipient’s college or university for the semester beginning fall 2026. Disbursement is contingent on the student enrolling in the major indicated on the scholarship application.
- Funds will be issued by TSCRF and mailed directly to the school in two equal installments: one for the fall semester and one for the spring semester.
- If a recipient is not enrolled in the required program by September 30, 2026, the award will be forfeited. Failure to meet conditions required to receive the spring installment will also result in forfeiture of that portion of the award.
- Any violation of the scholarship terms is considered a breach of the scholarship agreement and may lead to revocation of the award.
