Welcome from the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE DC). ​Headquartered in our Nation’s Capital, AABE DC enjoys a diverse membership drawn from companies, law firms, non-profit organizations, federal and state government agencies, educational institutions, and other energy-related organizations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.AABE DC will be awarding scholarships to diverse graduating high school seniors who will be either pursuing

  1. a STEM-related degree at an accredited college or university; or
  2. a technical program in STEM.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduating high school senior
  • Enrolling in
    1. an accredited college/university and pursuing a STEM-related field; or
    2. a technical program in STEM
  • Minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0
  • Be an underrepresented minority (African American, Hispanic, or Native American)
  • Reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia
  • Attend the in-person awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. (Summer 2024)
