AABE Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by American Association of Blacks in Energy
Welcome from the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE DC). Based in our Nation’s Capital, AABE DC represents a broad cross-section of professionals from corporations, law practices, nonprofits, federal and state agencies, schools, and other energy-related organizations throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. This chapter will be offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors from diverse backgrounds who plan to pursue:
- a STEM-related bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university; or
- a technical program in a STEM field.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a graduating high school senior.
- Be enrolled or planning to enroll in either:
- an accredited college or university pursuing a STEM-related major, or
- a technical STEM program.
- Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0.
- Identify as an underrepresented minority (African American, Hispanic, or Native American).
- Reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia.
- Be able to attend the in-person awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. (Summer 2024).
