INTRODUCTION
The Metropolitan Baton Rouge Chapter (NCBWMetroBR) of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. is a diverse collective of activists committed to unapologetically advocating for Black women and girls. We strive to uphold high standards of excellence, cultivate forward-looking leaders, and serve our community through leadership, dedication, and service.

MISSION
Our mission is to enhance the lives of Black women and their families by delivering programs centered on family, education, health, and financial well-being. We support community members and encourage aspiring young Black women to advance their education. This is a merit-based scholarship program.

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
Each spring, NCBWMetroBR awards a total of $5,000 distributed across three categories:
- High School Senior
- Undergraduate Student
- Graduate Student

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- High School Senior: Graduating from a Louisiana high school and accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning (2- or 4-year college/university, or technical/vocational school).
- Undergraduate or Graduate Student: Currently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning (2- or 4-year college/university, or technical/vocational school).
- All applicants (including high school seniors accepted into a program) must be enrolled in or accepted into an undergraduate or graduate program and have at least two semesters remaining before graduation.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated community-based service, supported by documentation and a service letter.

PREFERENCE
Special consideration may be given to applicants who have been involved with NCBWMetroBR activities. Preference will be applied in the following order:
1. Participation in NCBWMetroBR programs (e.g., Mentorship or other chapter initiatives)
2. Louisiana high school graduate from East Baton Rouge Parish or surrounding area, or attendance at an HBCU or other college/university in Baton Rouge or the surrounding area
3. Current HBCU undergraduate or graduate student
4. Louisiana-based high school graduate, undergraduate, or graduate student

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
All materials must be submitted online by the published deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Required items:
- Completed online application (mandatory). Applications missing any required components will be disqualified.
- Official transcript of grades uploaded with the application.
- Two separate letters uploaded on appropriate letterhead:
- High School Senior:
- One (1) letter of recommendation from school personnel (teacher, counselor, principal, club advisor, etc.)
- One (1) letter documenting service activities and hours from a community organization representative, club leader, service project representative, church leader, or similar
- Undergraduate/Graduate Student:
- One (1) letter of recommendation from university personnel (faculty, instructor, research advisor, program sponsor, academic advisor, club advisor, etc.)
- One (1) letter documenting service activities and hours from a community organization representative, club leader, service project representative, church leader, or similar
- A typed personal statement (250 words or fewer) explaining why the applicant should receive the scholarship and outlining future goals.
- A personal video describing the applicant’s commitment to service (provide an accessible link to the video).

SUBMISSION AND DEADLINE
Submit all application materials to the NCBWMetroBR chapter website by the specified due date. Late or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
