Berkeley Bay Area Alumnae Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Berkeley Bay Area Alumnae Chapter (BBAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated
Every year, the Scholarship Committee bestows scholarships upon high-achieving local high school students who aspire to pursue higher education at an accredited four-year university. The scholarships are a recognition of the students' dedication to academic excellence, community service, and leadership. Applicants are urged to share personal experiences that have influenced their lives and shaped their future educational or career aspirations. For more than eight decades, the Berkeley Bay Area Alumnae chapter has provided nearly $200,000 in tuition aid to exceptional scholars.
The Berkeley Bay Area Alumnae Chapter (BBAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a private community service sorority comprised of African American women with college degrees, is offering college scholarships to high school seniors of African/African American heritage in Alameda County. While the focus is on students who will attend four-year institutions, applications from students planning to start at a community college with the goal of transferring to a four-year institution are also welcome. The scholarship amount will depend on the available funds and is intended to supplement other financial resources.
Amount of Scholarship Award
The scholarship awards can vary based on the available funds, typically ranging from $500 to $3,000.
