Scholarship Eligibility
Who may apply: CFNRV scholarships are available to high school students planning to pursue a degree and undergraduate students attending a two- or four-year college, university, trade school, or technical school. Older adults returning to school and ACCE students at New River Community College are also welcome to apply. One scholarship is available to students pursuing a doctorate at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM). Applicants submit one application to the Foundation and indicate which scholarships they wish to be considered for.
- Applicants include high school students, undergraduates, returning adult students, and ACCE students at New River Community College.
- One scholarship is designated for doctoral students at VMCVM.
- A single application can be used to apply for multiple CFNRV scholarships.
Choosing an Application
Application types: CFNRV offers three scholarship applications: general, trade school, and VMCVM. Students attending a two- or four-year college or university should complete the general application. Students attending a trade or technical school should review the trade school application guidance to confirm which form to use. Students currently attending or planning to attend VMCVM in fall 2027 should complete the VMCVM application.
Trade and technical fields: The trade school application is intended for students pursuing further education in skilled fields, including automotive, building and construction, cosmetology, culinary, electrical, manufacturing, and maintenance and repair. This list is not exhaustive, so contact the CFNRV team if you are unsure whether your field qualifies. Students pursuing a healthcare certification or degree should complete the general application instead.
- Use the general application for a two- or four-year college or university and for healthcare programs.
- Use the trade school application for eligible skilled-field programs.
- VMCVM students attending in fall 2027 should complete the VMCVM application.
- Application questions are available online.
