Description: The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund provides educational support for dependent children of U.S. military service members who were killed or rendered 100% totally and permanently disabled as a result of combat or certain training incidents. Awards are intended for use toward undergraduate, vocational, or trade-school programs and are governed by eligibility criteria established by the Freedom Alliance Board of Directors. Applicants must confirm they meet the Fund's specific qualifying conditions before applying. The program prioritizes assisting families directly affected by combat-related loss or disability.

Eligibility
Eligibility: To qualify, the applicant must be the dependent son or daughter of a U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardsman, or Marine who meets one of the Fund’s service-related conditions: killed in action; 100% totally and permanently disabled as a direct result of a combat mission (priority to single combat-related disabilities rated 70% or more); major limb amputation due to enemy action; classified as a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA); recipient of the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Distinguished Service Cross, Air Force Cross, or Coast Guard Cross; or fatally or permanently injured in a qualifying training accident. For disability or training-accident cases, the qualifying parent must have received an Honorable discharge; Silver Star or Purple Heart recipients require only a combined 100% total and permanent disability rating. Applicants must be a high school senior, high school graduate, or currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate, vocational, or trade program; awards are limited to first-degree programs. Students with prior college coursework must hold a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, and applicants must be under age 26 at the time of application.

- Honorable discharge is required for qualifying parent in disability or training-accident cases; medal recipients have specific provisions.
