Southern Nevada GCSA Legacy Awards
Scholarship Sponsored by Southern Nevada Golf Course Superintendents Association
Overview
The SNGCSA Legacy Awards provide educational assistance to children and grandchildren of Southern Nevada Golf Course Superintendents Association members. Each award is $1,000 and is funded by the Scholarship & Research Tournament; the program is administered by the SNGCSA. Applications are reviewed annually and awards are issued to support post-secondary education. The program emphasizes merit-based recognition of academic and extracurricular achievement rather than financial need.

Eligibility
Eligibility requires a qualifying parental or grandparental relationship with a GCSAA member who has maintained five or more consecutive years of membership and is currently active with SNGCSA in specified classifications. Both natural and adoptive children are eligible; children or grandchildren of deceased members qualify if the member was active at the time of death. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited institution or, if a high school senior, have an acceptance letter to such an institution. Only one award per family may be received, though multiple family members may apply, and past recipients may reapply the following year.

Selection Criteria
Applicants are evaluated on academic achievement, extracurricular and community involvement, leadership, and outside employment. The review process is merit-based and does not consider financial need. The Scholarship Committee assesses each application against these factors to identify recipients who demonstrate strong overall accomplishment and potential. Committee decisions are final.
