Eligibility

Eligibility: Applicants must meet all stated criteria to be considered. Required qualifications include at least 10 hours of community service in the past year, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, enrollment or planned enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in the United States for Spring 2027, minimum age of 18, and U.S. citizenship. Only candidates who satisfy every requirement will be reviewed. Supporting documentation is required to verify eligibility.

Award Value

Award Value: One student is selected each semester to receive the Dedicated Volunteer Scholarship. The award amount is $1,000 and may be applied toward any educational expenses. The scholarship is intended to offset costs associated with college or graduate study. Recipients will be notified by email after selection.

Application Process

Application Timeline: The digital application is available on the scholarship page and should be completed for consideration for the Spring 2027 semester. Applicants must provide proof of enrollment, documentation of GPA, and a signed log of volunteer hours. A typed essay of approximately 500 words is required; the prompt asks applicants to describe a specific volunteer memory and the tangible difference they made. Evaluation and Notification

Evaluation: Essays are evaluated based on the strength of the personal narrative, coherence and organization, and relevance to the prompt. Reviewers assess how clearly the applicant conveys the volunteer experience and the tangible impact of their actions. Selection is made after the final application deadline, and the winner will be contacted by email approximately one month after that deadline. All evaluation criteria focus on the applicant’s demonstrated commitment and the clarity of their submitted materials.
