Scholarship Details
The RMD Law Scholarship provides a one-time monetary award to a student who demonstrates creativity, leadership, and academic commitment. The award amount and administrative timeline are fixed for the current cycle, and recipients will be notified after a formal review process. The program emphasizes personal insight and community-oriented problem solving in the application essay. Award disbursement details will be communicated directly to the selected recipient.

Eligibility Requirements
The scholarship is open to students who are either currently enrolled in a U.S. college, university, or trade school, or who will graduate from high school in calendar year 2026. Applicants must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify. Candidates are expected to submit all required materials by the stated deadline and follow the sponsor's social channels for the winner announcement. Incomplete or late submissions may be disqualified.
Eligibility: Enrolled in a U.S. postsecondary institution or a 2026 high school graduate; minimum 3.0 GPA; timely submission of materials.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a current academic transcript and an original essay responding to the scholarship prompt. Essays should be well-composed, original, and adhere to the word limit stated in the prompt. Additional submission instructions and any required forms should be followed exactly to ensure the application is complete.

Essay Prompt: If I Were in Charge
The essay prompt asks applicants to identify one common problem in their community, school, or the world and describe how they would solve it. Responses should explain why the problem matters to the applicant and their community, propose a creative or unexpected solution, and show how the approach reflects the applicant's values or experiences. The committee values authenticity, clear reasoning, and a demonstrable connection between the proposed solution and the writer's perspective. Applicants are encouraged to use personal insight and original thought to make their submission stand out.

Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on the originality and creativity of the essay, relevance to the prompt, and the clarity and thoughtfulness of the response. The selection panel will consider how effectively the applicant communicates their ideas and relates them to personal values or community impact. Academic standing is a baseline eligibility requirement, while the essay content will be the primary differentiator among qualified applicants. Final decisions will be made after a holistic review of all eligible submissions.
