First Step: Initiate the Admission Process

For you to be eligible for scholarships at WGU, you must first gain provisional acceptance as a WGU student1. This involves completing the admissions application and collaborating with your Enrollment Counselor to navigate the admissions process.

Second Step: Submit Scholarship Applications

After completing the first step, you will receive your MyWGU student portal credentials, which are necessary to access the scholarship application. You have the opportunity to apply for scholarships 90 days prior to and up to 30 days following your degree commencement date.2

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Most scholarships are designed for new students and alumni returning for further studies (unless stated otherwise). To be eligible, students must submit the scholarship application 90 days prior to and up to 30 days following the start of their program. After completing their first term, current students can apply for any scholarships they qualify for. However, WGU employees and their family members who qualify for the WGU employee discount are not eligible for WGU scholarships.
