McNeil Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Cleveland Foundation
Objective: The McNeil Scholarship Fund is established to offer scholarships to high school seniors graduating from Cleveland and its inner-ring suburbs' schools who are planning to attend a recognized educational institution. Special consideration is given to applicants from Shaw High School and those related to members of any of the Divine Nine sororities and fraternities.
Qualifications:
- High school senior graduating from a school within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District or one of the following inner-ring suburbs: Bedford, Bedford Heights, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga Heights, East Cleveland, Euclid, Fairview Park, Garfield Heights, Lakewood, Lindale, Maple Heights, Newburgh Heights, Parma, Parma Heights, Shaker Heights, South Euclid, University Heights, and Warrensville Heights.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Full-time enrollment at an accredited nonprofit educational institution
- Demonstrated financial need
- Active community involvement
- Preference is given to applicants from Shaw High School and those related to members of any of the Divine Nine sororities and fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity.

Selection Method: The selection process will be based on eligibility and the completion of application requirements in line with the stated objective and desired criteria for this scholarship award.
Award Details: The annual award amount will be determined by the fund's performance and the number of selected applicants. Previous awards have been $1,000. College Now will formally notify the selected recipient(s) of the award. The award will be paid directly to the institution and must be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or equipment required for coursework.
Requirements for Awarded Students:
- Must maintain full-time enrollment status
- Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Note: The scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable for subsequent years.
