Scholarship Sponsored by NextLaw

Value: $2,500.00
Awards Available: 1
Deadline : Nov 30, 2026

Overview

NextLaw’s Providing Support to Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship awards one student $2,500 and hands-on support to help launch a business idea. Applicants should submit a short video describing the business they intend to start and explain how their education will support that goal. Applications require a link to an unlisted YouTube video and must be submitted by the November deadline. The selection committee will review complete submissions and notify the winner after its evaluation period.

Description: A merit-based scholarship that funds and supports a student entrepreneur’s business launch.

Award Value: $2,500 plus direct support from NextLaw to assist with business start-up activities.

Application Timeline: Applications are due in November; the committee may take up to three months to select a winner.

  • One $2,500 award accompanied by launch support
  • Submit an unlisted YouTube video and application form
  • Deadline in November; decision may take up to three months

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at accredited U.S. colleges, universities, or graduate schools. Applicants must meet age, residency, and academic standing requirements and must provide personal and academic information as part of the application. Certain individuals are explicitly ineligible, including NextLaw employees and their children, past recipients, and applicants who reuse the same video across multiple awards. Applicants must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions to be considered.

Eligibility: Enrollment at an accredited U.S. institution, U.S. residency, at least 18 years old, and good academic standing.

Exclusions: NextLaw employees/children, previous scholarship winners, applicants unwilling to be interviewed, and reused submissions across years.

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S.
  • Must provide required personal and academic information
  • Certain relationships and prior recipients are excluded

Scholarship Video Requirements

Applicants must present their business plan in a video no longer than three minutes that explains the proposed venture and how formal education will enable its success. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube as unlisted and a link must be included with the application form. The selection committee evaluates the idea and its fit with the scholarship goals rather than production quality alone. Incomplete applications or late submissions will not be considered.

Description: A concise business-pitch video (maximum three minutes) uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted link and submitted with the application.

  • Maximum three-minute video explaining the business concept
  • Upload as an unlisted YouTube video and include the link in the application
  • Committee focuses on the idea and applicant goals, not editing sophistication

Creating a Powerful Scholarship Application Video

Applicants should craft clear, well-lit, and steady recordings that identify the student and scholarship name at the beginning or end. Include proper credits and use copyright-free material when adding supplemental footage; list any sources used to edit the video. The committee prohibits AI-generated voiceovers, scripts, or wholly AI-produced videos; misuse of AI will result in disqualification. After submission, do not contact NextLaw about application status—NextLaw will reach out directly with any questions.

Application Materials: Ensure the application form is complete and the unlisted YouTube video link is uploaded; missing materials will disqualify the entry.

  • Record in good lighting with a steady device
  • State your full name and the scholarship name in the video
  • Do not use AI-generated voiceovers or wholly AI-created videos

Terms and Conditions

Applicants must agree to the scholarship terms and meet stated eligibility criteria, including enrollment, age, residency, and academic standing. The applicant must submit an original video responding to the scholarship prompt and provide requested personal and academic information. Failure to comply with the terms, provide required materials, or meet eligibility standards will result in disqualification. The selection process is nondiscriminatory and based on the committee’s assessment of submissions.

Eligibility: Meet all stated conditions on the application page and confirm agreement to the scholarship’s terms.

Restrictions: Original video required; prohibited use of AI as defined by NextLaw; excluded applicants as specified.

  • Applicants must meet all eligibility and documentation requirements
  • Original content only; certain AI uses are disallowed
  • Noncompliance or missing materials will disqualify an application

Selection & Award Notification Process

The selection committee reviews only complete applications submitted by the November deadline and reserves up to three months to select a winner. Decisions are made without regard to protected characteristics such as age, race, religion, gender, or national origin. The chosen recipient will be contacted directly by a NextLaw representative, and the award funds will be mailed to the institution designated by the student. NextLaw will publish a blog post and press release announcing the winner.

Application Timeline: Submit by the November deadline; allow up to three months for the committee’s decision and notification.

  • Complete applications only; no status inquiries while committee is reviewing
  • Decisions are nondiscriminatory and based on committee evaluation
  • Winner notified directly; funds paid to the recipient’s institution
