The USTA Foundation Incorporated (USTA Foundation) focuses on serving young people from under-resourced communities. The USTA Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors who:

• Demonstrate academic achievement (3.0 minimum GPA)
• Perform community/volunteer service
• The USTA Foundation strategic goals include providing support to encourage young people to continue their education, with priority given to students who participated in enrolled National Junior Tennis and Learning organizations ("NJTL Chapters").
• Demonstrate significant financial need (verified during application process; utilizing Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and HUD information.

KEY INFORMATION

• USTA Foundation Scholarship Application Form must be completed online at this link no later than May 19, 2025 at 11:59 pm ET to be considered. Identified candidates will be contacted and notified via email to fill out a confirmation form provided by the USTA Foundation for information and verification purposes. The following additional information will be requested:
• Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA
• Two letters of recommendation (A link will be provided so your reference can upload the letter directly to the USTA Foundation.)
• One from a teacher/guidance counselor
• One from a tennis mentor
• All scholarship awards are disbursed directly to the college or university.
• Applicants may apply for all of the indicated scholarships which they are eligible for; however, individuals will not be awarded more than one scholarship.
• USTA Foundation will determine the award and amount, based on the student's need.
• All applications and submitted materials become the property of the USTA Foundation and will not be returned.
• Recipients will be notified of acceptance via email and will be required to return a signed award letter, which will be provided by the USTA Foundation. Failure to return the counter-signed award letter within forty-five days of receipt will void the award.
• Each recipient of a USTA Foundation scholarship is expected to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student as defined by his/her undergraduate institution, no later than the opening fall semester or term after notice of selection for the scholarship.
• Applicants receiving full grant and aid scholarships in the sport of tennis from their respective schools are not eligible for a USTA Foundation scholarship.
• If circumstances arise whereby an award recipient is unable to enroll or is unable to use the award in the opening fall semester or term after notice of his/her selection, the recipient must submit a written request for deferment. Each request will be reviewed and determined solely by the USTA Foundation on a case-by-case basis.  Failure of a recipient to obtain written approval of deferment from the USTA Foundation will lead to forfeiture of his/her right to the scholarship.
• Scholarships that are payable over four years require the completion of a renewal form, which will be provided by the USTA Foundation, attesting that they are enrolled in good standing. A copy of their college transcript must also be provided.
• Should a scholarship recipient wish to transfer to another college or university, a written request must be submitted to the USTA Foundation, along with a current transcript confirming that they are in good standing. Each request will be reviewed and determined solely by the USTA Foundation on a case-by-case basis.
• The above guidelines will be adhered to for each and every USTA Foundation scholarship awarded.
