Introduction
The Charles Nicolay Educational Foundation offers financial assistance to students from Iowa who are pursuing education in construction-related fields, including construction, architecture, engineering, and masonry.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a high school student or a college student from Iowa.
- Be enrolled at an institution located in Iowa.
- Be enrolled in a program related to construction, architecture, engineering, or masonry.
Application requirements
To be considered, applicants must submit a complete application that is electronically signed and includes:
- A copy of current school transcripts,
- An up-to-date resume,
- Two letters of recommendation: one from a community leader and one from a teacher or instructor.
Award distribution and amounts
Awards are paid to the school in two equal installments (half of the award amount issued each semester). If a recipient graduates mid-year, only the semester in which they graduate will be funded. Award levels are:
- Graduating high school seniors: $500
- Current community college students: $750
- University or graduate students: $1,000
