The Pennsylvania Business Education Association (PBEA) is thrilled to declare that it will be offering scholarships worth up to $1,000 in 2024.
This scholarship opportunity is open to any student and PBEA member who is currently enrolled in a business teacher education program at the undergraduate, masters, or certification level in Pennsylvania. Eligible candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and have completed at least 90 semester hours by the end of the spring semester.
GUIDELINES FOR PBEA SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The PBEA is excited to offer a scholarship of up to $1,000 to a student who is a member of the PBEA and is enrolled in a business teacher education program in Pennsylvania. This includes students in undergraduate, masters, and teacher certification programs.
The scholarship will be officially awarded at the PBEA Conference in the fall. The recipient will be informed by October 31, 2024. Upon acceptance, the recipient is expected to attend all PBEA Conference sessions and will be acknowledged during these sessions.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must submit the following documents:
- A filled-out PBEA Scholarship Application Form, which can be typed and is available at www.pbea.info. Additional forms can be obtained from the PBEA scholarship chairperson at the email address provided below. The completed application should not exceed 2 pages.
- An official transcript from all attended colleges showing completion of at least ninety semester hours by the end of the spring semester and a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
- A formal letter in proper business format stating the intention to enter business education and at least two reasons for choosing teaching as a career (not exceeding one page).
- Three recommendation letters: one from a faculty member, one from an employer, and one from another faculty member, another employer, or someone who knows the applicant well outside of academia. These letters should be sent directly to the PBEA scholarship chairperson by October 15.
