NPC Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by National Panhellenic Conference Foundation
Introduction
The National Panhellenic Conference Foundation provides scholarships each year to exceptional Panhellenic women. The application window opens in early December and closes in mid-March annually. Award winners are generally announced in late spring, and scholarship funds are disbursed at the start of the fall term.
Eligibility overview
Individual scholarship requirements vary by award, but recipients are typically current collegiate or alumnae members in good standing of NPC member organizations and are selected based on leadership, service to Panhellenic, academic achievement, and commitment to community and sisterhood. Specific criteria for each scholarship are noted below.
Available NPC Foundation scholarships
Alpha Phi / Betty Mullins Jones Scholarship
- Established by the Alpha Phi Foundation to honor Betty Mullins Jones and her dedication to the National Panhellenic Conference.
- Awarded annually to a collegiate Panhellenic woman who has actively promoted her Panhellenic community’s reputation on campus and exemplifies the values of sisterhood, philanthropy and scholarship.
- Amount: $1,000.
- Preference given to a woman who has made a meaningful difference in sorority life through service on her College Panhellenic.
Elizabeth Ahlemeyer Quick / Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship
- Created in recognition of Elizabeth “Betty” Quick’s long service to NPC and Gamma Phi Beta.
- Open to collegiate members in good standing of any NPC organization.
- Nomination by the College Panhellenic is required; nominees should have provided outstanding service to their local College Panhellenic.
- Academic requirement: minimum 3.0 GPA.
- The candidate must plan to enroll as a full-time junior or senior (as defined by her school) for the upcoming academic year.
Carole Jurenko Jones Scholarship
- Funded by Alpha Omicron Pi to honor Carole Jones’ service to the National Panhellenic Conference, including her role as NPC chairman for 2017–2019.
- Awarded each year to a collegiate member in good standing of a Panhellenic organization who has held chapter or Panhellenic leadership positions.
- May also be awarded to an alumna in good standing who has demonstrated Panhellenic spirit, outstanding service and leadership within her campus or community.
- Amount: $1,000.
Mary Louise Roller Scholarship
- Established by Alpha Omicron Pi to recognize Mary Louise Roller’s 33 years serving on Alpha Omicron Pi’s Panhellenic Delegation.
- Amount: $1,000.
- Granted to an undergraduate woman planning to enter graduate school the following fall.
- Recipients must have shown outstanding service to their local College Panhellenic during undergraduate years.
- Each College Panhellenic may submit one nominee per year.
Phoenix Panhellenic Association Centennial Scholarship
- Created in celebration of the Phoenix Panhellenic Association’s centennial.
- Typically awarded annually.
- Collegiate applicants must be members in good standing at one of these institutions: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, or Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Prescott.
- Graduate applicants must be Arizona residents enrolled at one of the listed universities or participating in an approved graduate program.
Sigma Kappa Courage and Conviction Scholarship
- Funded by Sigma Kappa to honor Donna Crain King’s service as NPC chairman (2015–2017).
- Amount: $1,000, awarded annually.
- Open to collegiate or alumnae members in good standing of a Panhellenic organization.
- Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate significant service or contributions to their chapter, university or community, and exemplify notable “courage and conviction.”
