Eligibility
To receive an ASPSF scholarship, applicants must meet residency, education, and single-parent status requirements. Residency eligibility is limited to Arkansas residents and residents of Bowie County, Texas, with specific county exclusions noted by the program. Education requirements include enrollment in an accredited institution or trade program, minimum GPA, and credit-hour minimums; applicants cannot already hold a bachelor’s degree. Single-parent status is defined by marital situation, custody of a dependent child, and household living arrangements.

Education: Eligible applicants are pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree, a professional license or certificate, or vocational training at a university, community college, or trade school. Applicants must be enrolled for at least three college credit hours (on campus or online), possess a high school diploma or GED, have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and not already hold a bachelor’s degree.
Single Parent Status: Applicants must meet all three elements of the single-parent definition: marital status (single, divorced, widowed, legally separated, or separated with pending divorce by award date), parenting status (physical custody of at least one dependent as defined below), and living arrangement (only adult in the household with the child(ren), or residing with relatives/roommates who are not partners or co-parents).
