Overview
This scholarship fund awards two annual scholarships to students from Greater Clark County who plan to pursue careers in teaching or nursing. Each scholarship supports either a bachelor’s or an associate degree, with funds disbursed annually while the recipient remains enrolled. The award structure is designed to provide multi-year support to increase the likelihood of degree completion. Eligible recipients may attend any accredited two- or four-year college or university.
Description: Two scholarships are awarded each year—one for students pursuing teaching and one for students pursuing nursing. Each award is paid on an annual basis to support continuous enrollment.
Award Value: For a bachelor’s degree the award is paid at $7,500 per year for four consecutive years (totaling $30,000). For an associate degree the award is paid at $7,500 per year for two consecutive years.

Requirements
Applicants must meet specific residency, academic, and graduation standards to be considered for the scholarship. Candidates should demonstrate sustained ties to Greater Clark County high schools and maintain the minimum academic performance required by the fund. The scholarship accepts students who will enroll at any accredited two- or four-year institution. Meeting all listed requirements does not guarantee selection; recipients are chosen based on the fund’s selection criteria.
Eligibility: Applicants must have attended a Greater Clark County high school for three of the four years of high school and plan to pursue a degree in teaching or nursing.
Academic Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and must have graduated with a CORE 40 diploma or an equivalent credential.
- Attend a Greater Clark County high school for three of four years (Jeffersonville, Charlestown, or New Washington).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Graduate with a CORE 40 diploma or equivalent.
- Plan to enroll at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
