Eligibility

Eligibility requires both a mentor with an established record of impactful mentorship and a trainee who is an ORS and ORS Spine Section member. The mentor should have a sustained commitment to mentoring pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees and documented contributions to diversity and inclusion in musculoskeletal sciences. The mentee should be a doctoral candidate or post-doctoral fellow and must be in good standing with ORS and the ORS Spine Section. The proposed mentor should not be the trainee’s current supervisor and is ideally based at a different institution to facilitate an exchange.

Eligibility: Mentor must be an established, committed mentor with relevant research impact; mentee must be an ORS member and enrolled as a doctoral candidate or post-doctoral fellow; mentor should not be the current supervisor and should be at a different institution when possible.

  • Exchange should involve a different institution than the trainee’s current lab

Application Requirements

Applications must document the mentor’s mentorship record, the exchange’s expected impact on the trainee’s development, and institutional endorsement of the proposed visit. Materials should clearly describe the planned activities and the specific skills or knowledge the trainee will gain. Both mentor and trainee must submit current CVs, and the trainee’s current advisor must provide a support letter endorsing the exchange. Selection will consider the coherence and significance of the proposed training plan and its alignment with the program’s goals.
