Eligibility

Eligibility: Applicants must demonstrate alignment with the program’s mission of empowering Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) women and allies. Candidates must be enrolled in or accepted to an undergraduate or trade program at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution. Applicants should be based in New York State or New Jersey and must demonstrate financial need. Eligible immigration statuses include U.S. citizens, DACA recipients, and permanent residents; international students are not eligible.

Application Requirements

Application Requirements: Submit a personal statement (combined 500-word limit) addressing how your financial circumstances and/or identity have shaped your values and impact, and/or how you have demonstrated commitment to advocacy, leadership, or community service supporting AANHPI women. Provide your FAFSA SAI number and an optional 150-word financial statement to document need. Include an academic or community letter of recommendation (up to 250 words) and an unofficial or official transcript. Applications that omit required elements may be considered incomplete.

Evaluation Metrics

Evaluation: Applications are reviewed holistically by a selection committee that considers personal experience, demonstrated impact, and financial need. The scoring breakdown prioritizes financial need (40%), followed by scholastic achievement (20%), personal statement (20%), recommendation strength (10%), and extracurricular engagement (10%). An additional consideration up to +5% may be granted for documented extenuating circumstances. Final decisions balance quantitative criteria with qualitative evidence of advocacy and leadership.
