Clay Electric Youth Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc.
Clay Electric's youth scholarship initiative is financed by unclaimed funds that would typically be surrendered to the state. However, a bylaw amendment in 2003 permits Clay Electric to retain these funds in an educational trust to support the scholarship initiative.
This yearly scholarship initiative is open to any high school senior from a public, private, or home school whose primary residence is within Clay Electric's service area and who will be graduating at the end of the relevant school year.
Selections are made based on the student's involvement in the community, their academic performance, and their participation in extra-curricular activities.
In order to ensure a fair distribution of scholarships across Clay Electric's service area, only one student from each public school can be awarded a scholarship, and not every school will have a scholarship winner. Similarly, only one student from the private/home school category can be awarded a scholarship. For any queries, please reach out to your local district office.
