Overview
This award supports a California high school senior who intends to pursue a career in theatre education.
Who is eligible
- Currently enrolled as a senior at a high school located in California.
- The student’s high school must have a theatre advisor who is an active CETA member.
- The applicant must plan to declare either a major or a minor in theatre at an accredited college, university, or conservatory, with the intention of ultimately working in theatre education.
Application materials
- An original essay describing the applicant’s perspective on the role of theatre (including educational theatre), the importance of arts in education, and the applicant’s personal goals related to theatre education.
- Essay length must not exceed 500 words.
- One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, submitted on official school letterhead.
