The Centerville Noon Optimist Club provides several scholarship opportunities for local youth to further their education.
Memorial Scholarship
We offer a $2,500 Educational Assistance Award to be applied toward tuition at an institution offering an advanced degree upon completion of an accredited program. The scholarship is renewable for a 2nd year with a continued financial need and a freshman GPA of at least a 3.0.
Skilled Trades Scholarship
The Skilled Trades Scholarship requires a Counselor’s recommendation with an emphasis on financial need and a desire to pursue a degree in the student’s chosen trade. In addition to financial assistance, each student will have two mentors. The scholarship provides up to $1,000 per semester for up to six semesters ($6,000 total) at Sinclair Community College, sufficient for an Associate Degree, or a one-time award of $2,500 to a specific trade school such as Hobart School of Welding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be a graduating high school senior that will be attending a college/university offering a two/four-year degree upon completion of an accredited program.
- Be a resident of Centerville/Washington Township.
- Have a strong record of participation in community service activities.
- Possess a financial need.
