PTSA High School Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Florida PTA
Introduction
Florida PTA is committed to supporting students who wish to pursue education beyond high school. To further that mission, Florida PTA provides scholarships funded by Honorary Life Memberships, Scholarship Fund events, and other donations.
Scholarship overview
Each year Florida PTA awards at least four (4) one-time, non-renewable scholarships of $2,000.00 each. There will be a minimum of one award in each of these categories: University, Fine Arts, Community College, and Vo-Tech. Awards are intended for graduating students from PTSA-affiliated high schools in Florida who plan to continue their education.
Eligibility and required application materials
Complete applications must be submitted by March 2, 2026. (Important: files uploaded while using the “Save and Continue” option may not be accessible—do not rely on that feature.)
To qualify, applicants must provide the following:
- A completed online application that shows Florida residency.
- A copy of your 2025–2026 PTA/PTSA membership card for your Florida school’s PTA/PTSA or the Sunshine State PTSA. You must be a PTSA member as of 11:59 PM on December 15, 2025. (The applicant’s PTA/PTSA must be in good standing; the Scholarship Committee will verify this.)
- An unofficial Florida high school transcript including cumulative summary pages showing at least a 2.5 unweighted GPA. Finalists may be asked to mail an official transcript bearing the school district seal in a sealed envelope at a later date.
- One letter of recommendation.
- An essay responding to the prompt: How can Florida PTA help support your school or local community? Identify a specific challenge in your school or community and explain how you think PTA should address it.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Scholarship amount and disbursement
Each scholarship is a single, non-renewable award of $2,000.00. Funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s chosen post-secondary institution.
Post-award requirements
Recipients must provide the following before funds are released:
- Proof of full-time registration and enrollment for the 2026–2027 academic year at a qualifying post-secondary institution (public or private university, fine arts school, community college, or Vo-Tech).
- Proof of Social Security Number.
Notification and acceptance timeline
Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than the first week of June 2026. Awardees must accept the scholarship by June 15, 2026. If an award is not accepted by that date, it will be withdrawn and may be re-awarded after July 1, 2026.
