For the 2026 school year, Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) will distribute $28,000 in scholarship awards across 24 opportunities for both traditional and nontraditional students. Whether you plan to enroll in a four‑year college, attend a technical or vocational program, or pursue training to become a lineworker or power engineer, MVEA has scholarship options to support your goals.
Eligibility
- The applicant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must currently receive electric service from MVEA.
- Applicants must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. (Exceptions may apply for the Vocational/Technical Scholarship.)
- Applicants must have an ACT score of 22 or higher, or a combined SAT score of 1,000 or higher.
Available scholarships (2026)
- MVEA Scholarships: Ten awards of $1,000 each for students enrolling in accredited colleges, universities, junior colleges, or community colleges in the fall.
- Vocational/Technical Scholarships: Eight awards of $1,000 each for students entering an occupational training program of two years or less at an accredited vocational/technical school, community college, or junior college.
- Power Lineworker Scholarships: Three awards of $2,000 each for students planning to enter a lineworker training program.
- Power Engineer Scholarship: One award of $2,000 for a student currently enrolled in a power engineering program at an accredited college or university.
- MVEA Last Chance Scholarships: Two awards of $1,000 each. These applications will be available only in person at the MVEA Annual Meeting of Members in Limon on June 4, 2026.
Application materials required
Before beginning the MVEA scholarship application, have the following ready:
- High school transcript or GED certification (this must accompany the application).
- A copy of ACT and/or SAT scores (note: not required for every scholarship application).
- A portrait or headshot photo.
