Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarships

Overview
Two scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors (male or female) from schools that hold NRCSA membership who intend to pursue a college degree and career in the fine or performing arts. Each NRCSA member school may submit only one application to this scholarship competition.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a graduating senior from an NRCSA member school.
- Applicant must plan to major in the fine arts.
- The student must enroll at a four‑year public or private college or university in Nebraska that qualifies as a nonprofit under IRS 501(c) regulations.
Application and Submission
- The application form will be posted on the NRCSA website (www.nrcsa.net). Forms may be completed electronically, but a printed hard copy must be submitted for consideration.
- Each member school may submit only one application. If a school submits more than one application, all submissions from that school will be disqualified.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Letters of Recommendation
- Two recommendation letters are required: one from a school official and a second from an individual chosen by the applicant.
- Recommendations should address the applicant’s excellence in one or more fine arts, plus leadership, character, initiative, and involvement in school and/or community activities.
Selection Criteria
Evaluation will give equal weight to each of the following:
- Quality and neatness of the application
- Achievement in the fine arts
- Level of involvement in activities
- Student goals
- Leadership
- Character
- Initiative
- School and community involvement
Award
- Two scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded in 2026.
