Overview
Below are the scholarship categories and the eligibility rules for each. Read each section carefully — if you do not meet the stated requirements or answer the eligibility question negatively, you are not eligible for that specific scholarship.
RN Pursuing an Advanced Nursing Degree
- Intended for registered nurses enrolled in a graduate-level nursing program (master’s or doctoral).
- Eligibility check: Are you a licensed RN currently working toward a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing? If not, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
RN Pursuing a BSN
- Designed for registered nurses who are completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Eligibility check: Are you an RN currently enrolled in a BSN program? If not, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
LPN Pursuing RN Licensure
- For Licensed Practical Nurses who are actively pursuing RN licensure.
- Eligibility check: Are you an LPN working to obtain RN licensure? If not, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
Minority Scholarship
- For students working on their first nursing credential that leads to RN licensure.
- Must reside in the state of Ohio.
- Must identify as a member of a minority group: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) or Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI).
- Additional requirements: You must not have experienced gaps in formal education longer than two years (from high school to college), and you must not already hold a degree.
- Eligibility checks:
- Are you pursuing your first nursing degree that leads to RN licensure? If no, you are not eligible.
- Have you had a break of more than two years in your formal education (from high school to college)? If yes, you are not eligible.
- Have you already earned a degree? If yes, you are not eligible.
- Do you live in Ohio? If no, you are not eligible.
Traditional Nursing Student Scholarship
- For students who have maintained continuous formal education (no breaks longer than two years from high school to college) and who do not already possess a degree.
- Eligibility checks:
- Have you had a break of more than two years in your formal education (from high school to college)? If yes, you are not eligible.
- Have you already earned a degree? If yes, you are not eligible.
Students Returning to School for Nursing Scholarship
- For individuals who have been out of formal education for more than two years and who are not currently RNs.
- Eligibility check: Have you been out of school for over two years and are not a registered nurse? If not, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
