Introduction
Since 1995, NFP has awarded in excess of $480,000 in scholarships and research grants to support nursing education. Each year, our scholarship program offers financial assistance to committed nursing students who demonstrate need and promise.
Who should apply
Students at any stage of their nursing education who are pursuing a nursing degree at an accredited institution in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are invited to submit applications.
Eligibility requirements
- Current college students: Must be actively enrolled in an accredited school located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and working toward a nursing degree.
- Current high school students: Must be matriculated in an accredited high school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and planning to pursue a nursing degree by the upcoming fall semester.
Out-of-state residents
Applicants living outside Pennsylvania may apply provided they are either currently enrolled in or have been accepted to a nursing program at an accredited school located within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Degrees supported
Scholarships are available to students pursuing:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), including RN-to-BSN programs
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in nursing
Selection process and timeline
A volunteer review panel made up of healthcare professionals, including nurses and nursing educators, evaluates eligible applications. All applicants will be informed of the committee’s decision by June 30.
