Overview
These scholarships are intended to support single mothers pursuing education that will improve their ability to provide for their families. Below are the eligibility requirements, application guidance, and important event information you must know before applying.
Eligibility requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a single mother. This includes women who are single, widowed, divorced, or separated (if your divorce is nearly final).
- Have physical custody of your child(ren). Children should be under 18, or over 18 but still enrolled in high school. In some cases an exception may be granted after a child has left the household.
- Household situation: you are the only adult in your home responsible for a child, or you live with parents or other relatives.
- Be a resident of Utah at the time you apply. (You may take coursework online outside Utah.)
- Possess a high school diploma from an accredited school or an equivalent GED.
- Be accepted and enrolled (or in the process of enrolling) in a college, university (including graduate or doctoral programs), technical school, coding Bootcamp, or other education or training that will increase your earning potential.
- Demonstrate financial need and set realistic, attainable educational goals.
- Have completed or be in the process of completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). If you applied for FAFSA and do not qualify, you are still eligible to apply—please indicate that on your application.

Application instructions — before you start
- Complete the entire application in one session. If you start the application and leave it open, a browser sleep or refresh may erase your entries and you will need to restart.
- Review the application guide first. It lists all documents and information required for a complete submission. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.
Award acceptance — required event attendance
Applicants chosen for the April 10th, 2026 scholarship must attend the Live Your Dream Golf Tournament at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course in Orem on Thursday, May 28th to receive their award. Seating is limited; only scholarship recipients will be permitted to attend.
