Introductory statement
We aim to assist Plano ISD students who have shown resilience in the face of substantial hardship, demonstrate financial need, and have the drive and academic ability to complete a college degree.
Eligibility and required materials
All applicants must meet the following criteria and submit the listed documentation:
- Residency/school status: Be a Plano ISD (Texas) high school senior.
- GPA: Hold a minimum 3.0 weighted high school GPA.
- Financial aid application: Provide FAFSA Federal Student Aid Estimator results or submit the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).
- Proof of financial need: Submit ONE of the following as evidence of household income — a parent’s current tax return or supporting income documents such as an IRS W-2 Wage & Tax Statement or a Form 1040.
- Resume: Include a resume outlining your current employment status, volunteer activities, and extracurricular involvement.
- Personal statement: Complete the application prompts about the adversities you have faced, how you overcame them, and what attending college would mean to you (the exact prompt appears on the online application).
- Recommendation: Provide one letter of recommendation from a person outside your academic setting (not a family member).
- Contact email: Use a personal email address for your application—do not use a school-issued email account.
