Referee and Umpire Leadership Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Ben Glass Law
BenGlassLaw and its Fairfax personal injury attorneys champion early leadership development. The firm encourages younger teens to try officiating because it teaches responsibility and real-world leadership skills. In the firm’s words, a representative explained:
“Working as a referee or umpire gives teens leadership experience that most high school jobs don’t — you make immediate decisions, manage players and adults, and stay composed under pressure. That kind of responsibility builds respect, confidence, and leadership by action rather than title. It’s an excellent opportunity for young people.”
To recognize students who have begun developing these abilities, BenGlassLaw is offering the BenGlassLaw Referee and Umpire Leadership Scholarship. One student will receive $2,500. Applications are accepted through December 15, 2025.
