Description: The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships recognize students for volunteer service that fights hunger across the United States. The program rewards impactful unpaid community service and highlights student leadership in anti-hunger efforts. By submitting an application, applicants agree their submission is non-confidential and that the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and Sodexo, Inc. may use, copy, modify, publish, transmit, and display the submission and the applicant’s name and identifying information.

Application Timeline

Application Timeline: Applications open on August 20, 2026 and close in October 2026. Winners will be notified in February 2027, and a public list of winners is scheduled to be posted in May 2027 at www.HelpStopHunger.org. National winners are recognized at the Foundation’s annual fundraising event in early May 2027. Administrative deadlines related to travel and fund processing are set by the Foundation and must be met on time to retain the award.

Award Value and Event Attendance

Award Value: National Stephen J. Brady Scholarship winners receive recognition and a scholarship administered by the Foundation. Winners are required to attend the Sodexo Charity Classic Presented by PepsiCo, held May 5–7, 2027 at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona; attendance is an all-expenses-paid trip and a condition of the award. Failure to attend will result in revocation of the scholarship. The event offers networking opportunities with leaders from the food, beverage, supply, and facilities management sectors to support scholars’ ongoing anti-hunger work.

Eligibility

Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the United States (kindergarten through graduate school) and be between the ages of 5 and 25 as of August 20, 2026. Applicants must have provided unpaid volunteer services that addressed hunger in the United States within the prior 12 months, and volunteer activities must benefit non-family members. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents residing in the contiguous United States, Alaska, or Hawaii. If selected and under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign required eligibility documents within seven days; timely compliance with Foundation requests is required to retain the award.

  • Enrollment: accredited U.S. institution (K–graduate).
  • Age: 5–25 as of August 20, 2026.
  • Volunteer service: unpaid, within last 12 months, for non-family members.
  • Residency: U.S. citizens or permanent residents in contiguous U.S., Alaska, or Hawaii.

Scholarship Funds and Administration

Award Administration: Scholarship funds will be paid only to an approved post-secondary educational institution where the scholar is enrolled or to a qualified 529 Plan if the scholar is not yet enrolled in post-secondary education. Funds must be used for tuition, required fees, books, supplies, and course-related equipment; they will not be paid directly to scholars, parents, guardians, family members, or other individuals. Payments are issued by check mailed directly to the institution or 529 Plan (no P.O. Box), and winners must provide complete payment and travel information by the Foundation’s stated deadlines. Failure to supply required information by the deadlines may result in forfeiture of the scholarship and associated travel arrangements.

  • Checks mailed to institution/529 Plan; mailing address cannot be a P.O. Box.
  • Missing or late documentation can result in forfeiture of funds.

Submission Terms

Submission Terms: By applying, entrants grant the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and Sodexo, Inc. the right to use submitted materials and identifying information across any media for program and promotional purposes. Submissions are treated as non-confidential; applicants should not submit proprietary or confidential materials. Scholars and their parents or guardians must respond promptly to Foundation requests for information—failure to do so within specified timeframes may lead to cancellation of the award or travel arrangements. The Foundation’s use and administration of submissions and award logistics are governed by these terms.
