Overview

Greenhouse Scholars' Whole Person College Program identifies motivated young leaders from low-income communities and provides coordinated academic, professional, and financial support during college. Scholars receive community impact planning, one-on-one mentorship, professional networking, leadership and life-skill development, a Summer Symposium, internship opportunities, and tuition awards. The program emphasizes a holistic ecosystem of support composed of mentors, staff, volunteers, peers, donors, and alumni to help Scholars succeed academically and contribute to their communities. Post-graduation services are available through the program's next phase.

Description: A comprehensive, college-focused program that combines financial aid with mentorship, leadership development, and professional opportunities to support Scholars from enrollment through graduation and beyond.

  • Holistic support combining financial and non-financial resources.
  • Focus on leadership, community impact, and professional development.
  • Ongoing alumni engagement and post-college programming.

Eligibility

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in a four-year accredited institution in fall 2027 and meet academic, residency, and financial-need criteria. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and legal residents of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Utah, or specified counties in California (Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange). Academic and personal qualifications include a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and demonstrated leadership, perseverance, and community commitment. The program limits eligibility to households with annual income no greater than $80,000.

Eligibility: Graduating seniors planning to start a four-year college in fall 2027 who meet residency, GPA, income, and personal-commitment criteria.

Award Value

Tuition awards are available to participating Scholars, with monetary support capped at $5,000 per academic year. In addition to tuition assistance, the program supplies non-financial resources—mentorship, internships, professional networking, and leadership development—that contribute to long-term student success. Financial awards are one component of a broader support package intended to reduce barriers to degree completion. Specific award disbursement and eligibility details are handled during the application and finalist stages.

Award Value: Tuition awards up to $5,000 per academic year, supplemented by mentorship and career development resources.

  • Monetary awards up to $5,000 per academic year.
  • Complementary non-financial supports (mentorship, internships, leadership training).
