MAPA (Minnesota Association of Public Accountants) is a professional organization for accountants in public practice who serve individuals and small businesses. The association welcomes both certified and non-certified practitioners and focuses on advancing professional knowledge and facilitating the exchange of current information and ideas among members. MAPA also administers scholarship support for accounting students who meet eligibility criteria.

Eligibility
Scholarship applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited four-year U.S. college or university, entering their sophomore, junior, senior, or fifth year. Applicants must be majoring in accounting and intend to practice in public accounting. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens attending a U.S. accredited school and residents of Minnesota.
Eligibility: Undergraduate accounting majors (sophomore–fifth year), GPA 2.5+, U.S. citizens, attending an accredited U.S. institution, and Minnesota residents.

Application Process
Applications must include transcripts from each school attended and a letter of recommendation, and all materials should be submitted in original form. Transcripts may be submitted by the student with the application or sent directly from the issuing institution to MAPA. Completed applications and supporting documents must be signed, dated, and received by MAPA by the stated deadline. Completed applications may be mailed to MAPA or emailed to the scholarship contact.
Application Timeline: All scholarship candidates will be notified of the selection in December; supporting materials must be received by the stated deadline.

Application Acceptance Policy
MAPA requires that all applications and supporting documentation be complete, signed, and submitted by the deadline. Supporting documents should be attached to the application to prevent separation; if submitted separately, they must still be received by the deadline. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure all materials have been sent and received. MAPA reserves the right to eliminate unsigned or incomplete applications, including those missing supporting documentation, without further notice.

How to Give
Contributions to the MAPA Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible and support accounting majors who reside in Minnesota. Donors may download the donation PDF form and mail it with a check or credit card information, donate online, or elect a contribution when renewing MAPA membership. The association welcomes donations of any size to help sustain scholarship support for students pursuing careers in public accounting.
